Bryan Bagnas
Owner/Headmaster of Golden Leopard Kempo

Headmaster Bryan Bagnas was born in California. Mr. Bagnas graduated from U.C.S.D. in 1991 with a B.S. in Cognitive Science and has applied many of those concepts into his teaching method. His wife and three children also study Kempo under his guidence.

Mr. Bagnas first studied the art of Kempo Karate at a local San Diego dojo, later joining his instructor's staff as junior instructor. He earned his first Black Belt in 1988, and in 1992 he opened his first dojo in La Mesa, California.

He changed the name of his dojo in 1995 to Golden Leopard Kempo, receiving worldwide recognition and accolades for his school's website. Through this website, Mr. Bagnas met, corresponded, and trained with many other instructors to expand his knowleldge of Kempo Karate. From 1992-2005, he has trained under many great masters in the arts of T'ai Chi Chuan, Bagua Chuan, Hsing-Yi Chuan, Shorinjin Taijutsu, Okinawan Kobudo, Filipino Arnis-Eskrima, and Jujitsu. He also continued to volunteer for small, local groups teaching self-defense seminars and introductions to karate for children.

In 1998, he became a student of Karazenpo Go Shinjutsu's Grandmaster Sonny Gascon, and has continued working with Grandmaster Gascon's organization since that time. Mr. Bagnas, through his international Golden Leopard Kempo Organization, also supports World T'ai Chi Day -- an annual public event he hosts at local San Diego/San Ysidro parks.
